I convert them into lrf, pdf is too dang light on the 500 which is a real disappointment.

I use a program called 'pdflrf' not to be confused with 'pdf2lrf' after conversion text is very readable. I would certainly call it successful yes.

I think I got pdflrf here on mobilread but to be honest I don't remember for sure (or else I would post a link).

3. Bookmarks -- It automatically includes the top line of text. Beyond that, not sure.
4. Scroll bar -- During ordinary reading, you see a page count, not a scroll bar. If you press Option and Go to Page, you get a scroll bar.
5. Dictionaries -- Nada, an unfortunate omission

Oh well,
Sony will get it right at some point. Seems like wireless delivery is the priority right now though. Thanks for the feedback!

Baen has a lot of free books. I just haven't figured out if any of the formats are compatible with my Sony 700. Yes, I admit I am an idiot.

I love B&H. My favorite adult toy store!

BookWyrm217: The 700 can read LRF, Epub and PDF. So you have choices on Baen. I grab epub then lrf, and if nothing else pdf.

Baen has LRF, and they even call this "Sony Digital Reader Format ", see for example 1632 by Eric Flint. At the moment they don't support ePub and they will never support PDF. If you don't like the LRF version, download the DRM-free LIT (MicroSoft Reader) format and convert it to ePub using Calibre.

Thinking about upgrading my 505 to 700. Not much need to though . . .
