Just --replace '& #160;|' (without the space). That will remove the nbsps.

Again there is no need for that change. The named entity or the two numeric entities for a non-breaking space are treated the same by the renderer. Given that a kepub is rendered by an epub3 renderer on a Kobo ereader, using the named entity for a non-breaking space is not a good idea.

Have you read the thread starting from here?
I do not know whether word hyphenation will work normally in this case, but I will try. The .epub works.

What you are saying is correct, but does not apply to this situation. The epub in question was invalid, and the spaces weren't correct. Kepubify attempts to fix broken epubs, and that made the spaces appear, so the real goal here is to remove them so the epub renders as it did before it was fixed.

Also, note that in the epub in question, the spaces were not originally encoded at all.

Have you tried to do this? It does not work for me: "#160" is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file

You must quit the space between & and #.
Good luck.

Actually, I think the issue is escaping. Try adding a backslash before the ampersand.

I now remove non-breaking spaces before converting kepubify: & # 160; do not appear, this is not a problem. The problem is to leave the original characters without getting & # 160; There should be non-breaking spaces, but there should not be a text & # 160;

Using the symbol «"» everything works, just checked

with «'» does not work
