I'm not sure if its' the same problem that I had the first time that I used it but...
Go to the down marker (v) to the right of "Send to device". Choose "Set default send to device action" & then "Send to main memory".

I had a weird thing happen with 6.34 (Win 32)
In the Meta-data editor on a new book fixing Author -title.
Used the interchange A<->T tool. Removed some extraneous stuff from the fields, the clicked "Get Meta-data".
The Author Title switched back to the wrong way. when the Get had failed.
Note: Was also the first time after I had ticked the swap author first name, Last name in preferences.
Anyone else seeing this?

Please post that the WMI problem is fixed

I was one of those with the WMI error.

I gave up on Calibre a while back and hardly ever used the program again. When prompted to update I didn't bother. Didn't go to the Calibre section anymore, after all it didn't work.

So please post that the WMI problem with Windows/Sony has been fixed. But put it in "News and Commentary" as others, like me, may have given up looking in the Calibre section.

Calibre now works vary well with Windows 7(64bit) Profesionl. Fast, with none of the other problems mentioned here.

Thanks for the extra effort. As soon as I can I'll send a donation. Calibre is worth paying for.

@theducks: I doubt this is specific to 34

But let me check if understand it correctly.

You swapped author and title then tried to fetch metadata. No metadata was found and the title and author were swapped back?

Correct.
I had to exit the Editor, then restart the editor and try the fetch again before it would stick.
I have done the swap, edit, fetch 100's of times successfully with earlier versions.
Just not with the first name- last name (fairly new) option ticked .
When I get a chance. I will test without it ticked.
Update:
Can not duplicate
