Charger Trick
I use a Belklin Ipod charger that connects to the USB. Works great!! Save yourself some cash and don't bother with buying another AC charger. (assuming you have an Ipod charger). Keep Reading!!

Problem with that is that while you slowly charge the Reader, you cannot use it. Best off getting a PSP AC adapter that will allow faster charging and you can use the Reader while you are charging the battery.

Not so slow as you might think, out of the box to full charge in about 30 min. I do put in a few hours of recharge time for myself daily, so that is when I recharge my gadgets too.

USB = USB right? I was planning on using my HTC Touch Diamond charger for the 505.

But to charge it from fully dead will take about 4 hours via USB. Out of the box doesn't really count as there is already some charge to it. Plus, with a PSP charger, you can be happily reading while it's charging.

As Jon says, a PSP charger will charge the Reader a lot faster than will a USB charger. However, if you already have a USB charger, it will work just fine.

Well, You could do what I did and get one of those PSP Sharge Sync Cables, which have bot a Mini USB as well as a PSP tip, and you can charge it over USB.
So you get the best of Both world, use you existing AC adaptor, while still be able to read when charging, when using the PSP tip. I originally got the retractable Logic3 Data And Charge Cable (PSP) Its really handy, and I still use it for other stuff, though I passed on my PRS-500 |

I thought that some people had problems with their 500s/505s actually draining instead of charging when hooked up to various ac-usb charger. (Haven't tried to do this myself.)
My friend just bought a charger exactly like bbusybookworm's charger at Fry's yesterday. Only cost $10 and worked like a charm for her brand new PRS700. dordale |

I had the battery drain problem when I tried my HTC USB charger on it.
iGo sells an iTip for the Sony Reader (same as the PSP tip) that is readily available and costs $9.99. If you happen to already be using iGo, then all you need is the tip. |
