Kindle Fire
I have a Kindle Fire HD8 which I use as my reader. I have Google Play and Moon+ Reader, and FBR reader installed, and I use those rather than the built-in Kindle reader. I transfer my books in epub.
I can't use Calibre Companion on this device, or on the previous Fire 8HD that I owned. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and since CC uses its own records, I can't combine it with cable. Cable connection via USB is really, really slow. It can take up to 5 minutes to make the connection, if it does at all, and sometimes when I try to do something like copy books across, Calibre crashes. Is this because of my humungous book library? Should I split it up a bit? Or is there something about the Fire HD? I suspect it's the Fire, because I also read on my phone, and I keep the two libraries the same. I don't have any problems with my (Android) phone, it connects reasonably quickly and I can update and so on with little trouble. I'm using Windows 10. |

Try resetting your fire. Or use th econtent server instead of Calibre companion to download books, if CC is not working for you.
