If it helps I'm playing with a Google Nexus 7 and win 7. I can copy files to the device, delete files on the device from Win 7 file manager using the usb cable.

7 inch tablet and moon+ ereader works quite nicely. OSMAND works with off line maps so you can navigate using the built in gps.

Also Calibre is working with its MTP driver.
