Invalid Syntax Error
I have a Sony PRS-300 and I think I've broken it
I downloaded calibre and was messing about changing the metadata on some of the PDFs. Now when I use ebook library it can see my reader but when I click on it it says Invalid Syntax Any idea's what I've done? |

Is your reader still working when not hooked up to your computer? You might try to reformat it to see if this helps. Be aware that reformatting will delete all of the files currently on the reader. (Look under settings/advanced settings for the option to reformat.)

Sorry, couldn't resist. I can't see how one could affect the other. I suspect there is a file on their which eBook library can't read. If you just format your reader and reload your books you should be fine. BOb |

hi thanks for the replies. I was also getting an error in calibre but I uninstalled that and thought it would be ok in ebook reader. That will teach me to play with things I don't understand
Sorry for being blonde but is it possible that if I reformat my device that it still wont work? Its just that I have loads of PDFs on there and am worried I wont be able to put them back on once its reformatted if ebook library and calibre still wont recognise it |

What do you see on it if you connect it and just view it as an external drive using Explorer?

If I do that then I can view all of my books in a set of folders in windows explorer, all the titles etc. So should it work again once I reformat it? I'm thinking perhaps I've deleted a file it needs to work in Ebook library or something but also calibre will not see it. If I reformat will it return it to factory settings or is there a way that I can reinstall whatever file I've deleted?
