I too am having Calibre crash on importing.

I am running Vista 32bit and Calibre is crashing on import every time. I did not attach the error file but can if needed.

6.14 ran on my machine with no problems.

Thanks,

@latexsalesman: Uninstall calibre. Delete the C:\Program Files\calibre directory and then re-install calibre.

@jquest: Works for me on gentoo 64 bit. Don't have a Ubuntu 64 bit machine to test on. But try deleting /opt/calibre/libffi.so.5 and see if that fixes the crash.

@jquest: Were you simulataneously doing something while adding books?

@GJN: What format were these books you were trying to import?

Hi kovid,

Thanks for and amazing job with calibre.

On 6.15 I can confirm the same crash on Vista 64 while importing txt, html, and prc docs.

If you want I can upload logs.

Yes, repeated crashes trying to import .html or .rtf in .615, Snow Leopard.
.lrf crashed once, then imported/converted.

update: on 3rd restart, .html imported, converted fine.

update 2: Ok, dragging and dropping crashes. Using Add Books seems to work. But something is definitely a bit random.

Yup, I'd like to quip in with reports of repeated crashes while importing epub files too. I'm on Windows 7 x64.

Edit - Crashes with both drag and drop as well as "Add Book" method.

PS - Thanks for all the awesome work on Calibre.

Thumbs up

I've just installed 0.6.16, and it seems very solid so far.

No issues at all with multiple file imports.
