Is it possible for the PRS T-1 to search within multiple ebooks? Sort of like the option in Windows to search for "A word or phrase in the file", or like the "Spotlight" search function in Mac OSX.

You could always plug your reader into the USB port on your PC and direct your search program to the reader drive. It definitely works on my 350 doing that.

I could do that, but it would take away the convenience of just searching for that particular word, or phrase on the device itself.

I would guess that searches are complicated by DRM. Each book with DRM would need to be temporarily decrypted to be searched, so the searching mechanism would need to be able to deal with that, and it would add a fair bit of time to the operation. Perhaps Sony thought it was more trouble than it was worth to provide this feature.

Yes, I suppose DRM would complicate things quite a bit. Fortunately, all my books are currently DRM-free
Perhaps this feature could be implemented in some way in the rooted, Android OS ?
