Help! My computer won't recognise my sony

I've plugged in my Sony scores of times to my computer to transfer files, the last time yesterday.

But the computer doesn't recognise my Sony tonight. I've tried changing USB port, and tried shutting the computer down and restarting with the Sony plugged in. I don't have another cable to try.

Is there anything else I can do to get it working again? Or is there any other way of getting files to and from my computer?

Regards, Alex

Does your device have enough charge?

What operating system are you using?

Is the device not showing up in windows explorer, ADE, Reader Library?

Have you checked solutions at Sony eSupport?

Alex I had the same problem a week ago with my Sony 350 & my Mac Snow Leopard. I finally shut my Mac down completely & re-started it. It then recognized my Sony. See if that helps.

Thanks to you both. I'm embarrassed to have to report that the Sony was frozen, and came back to life when I reset it. This is the first time I've had to reset it since I bought it nearly a year ago, so I didn't think of that before I fired off my panic posting.

Mine has done that as well, I had to unplug some other things from the computer and it worked as advertised.
