This is Odd

I pre ordered my Nook on Oct. 22, used my PayPal for funds, I just checked my PayPal account and noticed where the funds were pending on the 22 of Oct, then went to finalized on Nov. 2 and now the funds are returned to my account, has anyone had this occurred to them.

It's possible that Paypal holds the funds for a maximum of 1 month. If they're not claimed by the seller in that time they return to your account. My hope is that B&N had nothing to do with it, and will simply come back and collect their money again when they (finally!) ship your nook.
What leads me to believe this is that it was precisely a month from when paypal subtracted the funds to when they returned them. Perhaps an email to paypal support could get the official line on what happened, and whether B&N actively gave you a refund.

I'd be very interested to know the cause. If they're refunding money, that's not good.

Same thing happened with my credit card. There was a hold on about 250 from when I preordered to about the beginning of my new statement on the 20th of last month. They haven't put the hold up again, but I assume they will just charge me when the 250 comes due.
