Were you excited when you got Kindly?
OMG, I'm so excited -! I got my Kindle few days ago! I love it. Now I can read my Nook at home and can carry my Kindle with me and read everywhere else. I went to the beach today and finally finished my first book. Oh, I like it a lot. Now I can read even more.

I was anxious to get mine, but more surprised that Amazon made good on their same-day-delivery.

Yes. Even more excited than when I got my Sony Reader. Probably because there was more anticipation for it as I had pre- ordered the kindle about a month before it was released. There were very few official reviews and only 1 or 2 pics. Therefore there was more of a mystery surrounding. The Sony reader was an impulse buy. I ordered it online and it arrived a few days later. There wasn't much time to get excited about it. Plus it had been out for over a year already so there were plenty of reviews, videos etc.

Excited? No. After having a couple of dozen eBook readers, one more really doesn't excite me. Terribly cynical, I know, but it's the truth .

My reaction to my then new K3 was much the same. It was a very nice improvement over my previous device, but being only the newest of a series of devices in over nearly 15 years of reading ebooks on portable devices and nearly 20 years of reading ebooks overall, it wasn't an earth shattering event.

Yes, my Kindle was my first eBook reader, and I was quite excited to get it. As carld said, it gave me back reading for pleasure - something that had fallen off after I had kids, but I am not glad to have back again.
Now I get to experience the pleasure all over again waiting for my replacement Kindle (word to the wise - don't keep it in bed with you when you go to sleep!). |

I was excited when I got my Kindle, yes! I was so happy with the screen and the weight and the everything, and being able to finally start reading the freebie/PD books I'd been hoarding for three years on something that didn't give me a headache made me really happy.

Pleased rather than excited. It does grow on you, though.
I'm most happy with whispersync and the ability to send my own documents to the Kindle. I hope you enjoy it long term as you do now. Dean |
