So you want a Calibre Dark Theme
Really easy if you have Windows 7
Before you start - Copy the Job Spy .json from the plugins folder into a safe place - a good place is the "job_spy" Resources folder in the Plugins" - this is if you have trouble getting your default Calibre colors to match back. When you're done with "dark Calibre" just swap back. 1. Set Windows "personalize" themes to a high contrast setting. I use the black and purple 2. In Calibre make sure you have the "Job Spy" plugin 3. Customize Job Spy - Set Calibre Colors - All text is "Ghost White" all other colors for background, etc. "Black" Interesting Color changes - All the drop-down menus will switch to your new color scheme - ie. if you have text as being white but the drop downs are normally in black - the text will show white. This includes the list of libraries in quick switch and the list of virtual libraries The side panel book details text that is normally black - won't change. So it is impossible to read the details beyond the links. However if you open the details using the menu - it will show the details all in default Calibre colors. To get around not seeing the details text - open the details in your menu. The panel will be in Default colors. All the individual plugin gui's will remain the default Calibre colors. You can't change the color of the texts is under the menu icons, but hovering over the icon will "flash" it to default colors so you can read it. Not sure where else but for sure the labels under the icons stay black. Not sure if it is contingent on having the Windows set to contrast, but it works for me that way. Let me know if you try it and it works for you. Last edited by Rellwood; 09-28-2019 at 07:12 AM. |

The blue text on a black backround is not easy to read. It's a terrible color choice.

You can either keep the background black, or choose something that works better. Can't help that links are always blue. All other text, including what I thought would only be black, is white. Last edited by Rellwood; 09-28-2019 at 10:30 AM. |
