Calibre Portable not loading properly

I don't know what to do to fix this. I'm an okay user, but not a programmer. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling new Calibre version (5.4.2) and got same error, copied and pasted below. Any suggestions?

calibre, version 5.4.2

Code:
OSError: [WinError 1392] The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable: 'D:\\Calibre Portable\\Calibre Settings\\gui.py.json'
First: run the disk check on D:
In file Explorer: open My Computer: Right click on D: : Properties: Tools Tab Click Check : click Scan and Repair Drive (if it reports that it fixed things, you may have an easy win)

Next try and view the content (list) of the Calibre Settings Folder.
If you see the files listed, try Calibre again
