It won't sell. Nobody has a program/app to display this garbage.

User friendly DRM? Isn't that an oxymoron?

Is this like the watermarking that Pottermore uses?

So it looks like it *isn't* what is in use on Pottermore. In fact, it looks like this scheme assumes (requires?) that the e-reader has an always-on connection to the Internet.

And that's why it's only being used in cases where the content can remain inside a walled garden.

Also, they imply that their new URMS won't be hacked too, but I am sceptical. Last edited by ShellShock; 04-21-2016 at 03:11 PM. |

As long as there is a company willing to pay for a DRM scheme, there will be companies claiming to have a hack proof scheme available or 'in the works'. Look at the DVD industry, I don't know if they're still trying but at one point it seemed every few months there would be some new scheme and within a short time it would have been figured out and the cycle would begin anew. I'd wager they lost more in trying to prevent piracy than they actually did from piracy. Noting that some amount of the pirated movies wouldn't have been purchased no matter what.
