Aura One microSD card
Dear all,
I've added the following lines to the end of /etc/init.d/rcS: Code:
if [ -f /mnt/onboard/.kobo/run.sh ]; then /bin/sh /mnt/onboard/.kobo/run.sh & fi Code:
#!/bin/sh DEV_OPTS=`ls -l /dev` echo "$DEV_OPTS" >> /mnt/onboard/.kobo/dev-contents.txt What I found was: Code:
... brw-rw---- 1 root disk 179, 0 Oct 27 22:00 mmcblk0 brw-rw---- 1 root disk 179, 1 Feb 22 2012 mmcblk0p1 brw-rw---- 1 root disk 179, 2 Feb 22 2012 mmcblk0p2 brw-rw---- 1 root disk 179, 3 Feb 22 2012 mmcblk0p3 ... Thanks for your time. |

The internal memory is a sandisk chip soldered directly to the mainboard. One of the reviewers opened it and posted photos.
So unfortunately no simple sd card switching here. |

Thanks for the quick reply. Do you have a link to the review/photos?

In order to get it's waterproof rating, it cannot be using a mircoSD card.

But if anyone was to open the A1 and replace the microSD card, it would no longer be waterproof.

Waterproofing
They could have kept the sdcard and the water proofing just like the Sony Xperia Z5.
Heck it's just a conspiracy to kill micro sdcards on e-readers. You just can't get an expandable memory e-reader anymore. I'm glad I still have my Kobo Aura HD |

Looking at the info on the Sony Xperia Z5, you are talking about something else. The question in the thread is about the internal memory storage for the basic storage including the OS. Most of the Kobo devices use a internal SD card for this. There is no access to it unless you open the device and it is not intended to be changed. The Aura ONE has fixed memory for this. The Aura H2O has an external SD card that has a sealed cover to prevent water getting in. This seems to be what you are referring to in the Sony Xperia Z5.

I use Linux daily.
mmcblk0 means the first memory card. p# means a partition on the card, for example: mmcblk0p1 means the second partition of the first memory card. In other words, there are not 3 sd cards, there is 1 SD card with 3 partitions. |

Please let us know when you brick the device, and how you'll manage to reset it.
