Use your dictionary in Kindle App on i-Device
I find a way to upload your own dictionary to replace the default one in Kindle App. The key is the ASIN field (in the EXTH block) in the mobi dictionary file.
Just download or find a satisfied dictionary and update its ASIN to B003ODIZL6, which is the one used by default dictionary: B003ODIZL6_EBOK.azw. Then upload the dictionary file to Kindle App like you sideload other ebooks and remove B003ODIZL6_EBOK.* from eBooks directory. After restarting Kindle, you can start to use your new dictionary! |

This may be a stupid question, but how exactly did you add the ASIN information to your mobifile? (My mobi file has a MOBI header.)
Can the ASIN be specified in the .opf file or does this require a hex editor? |

The short answer is use MobiPearl (or its Windows GUI). See Kindle Sync with non-Amazon eBooks on Windows. For non-Windows PCs see ASIN info.
