From OpenCulture.com:
"In the wake of the great Notre Dame fire, the French video game company Ubisoft has decided to make its popular video game Assassin's Creed Unity free through April 25th, allowing gamers to "experience the majesty and beauty of the cathedral." The gothic cathedral figures centrally in the game. Start your download (available only for PC users) here. Once you download the game, you’ll own it forever in your Uplay games library. Free on iTunes. Aerial Ireland, Season 1. Produced by the Smithsonian Channel. Description Take a cross-country flight over Ireland's natural wonders and ancient ruins. In this spectacular overview of the historically significant Emerald Isle, we soar over Neolithic tombs of the Celtic era, medieval castles of the Vikings, and modern cities humming with life. From the tower that inspired a novelist to the ancestral home of a famous stout, we explore the sites, the people, and the milestones of this unique gem of Western Europe. In digital HD, of course. I don't not own an Apple product. I'd love to have access to iTunes. Does anyone know an easy way for a Windows 10 and/or Android user to get stuff from iTunes? One time, I tried to find a way, and I found several websites that told how to do it. However, all of them entailed doing some pretty time-consuming, and maybe even difficult, actions. Note: this promo has been kicking around since Black Friday. Chase keeps extending it. Check your credit card to see if they offer similar promos. I know AmEx did something similar. |

Thanks.
I'm sure that that information will be invaluable to some people. However, I extremely rarely watch TV, per se. I just talked Comcast into lowering my cable bill (by about $35/month)--I got to keep my Internet, and at the same speed, but the obligatory "basic cable" was all that was included as far as TV is concerned. No Smithsonian Channel. No premium channels at all (except Starz (Ack!)). That's the way it goes. Life consists of trade-offs. |

Amazon Prime members may be eligible to get a $3 promo code for listening to a full track on Amazon Music. You're only eligible if they've sent you an e-mail or shown you a banner about the promo, but the top of the promotion's page should show you if you're eligible or not. (I say should because I have no way of testing it on an account that's not eligible.) You do not need to install their player to do this, you can stream in your web browser.

Spoiler:
One thing to note, you may be eligible for this even if you have streamed music from Amazon Music before. I even have the player installed on my PC, and they offered it to me. It has been several months since I last used it, but I've streamed a lot of music from Amazon in the past. |

Microsoft Gaming and Gaming-Related Deals.
If I understand the O.P. correctly, posting of games is allowed on this thread.
I just ran across the following deals. I'm not a gamer, so I don't know whether these are good deals or not. The promotion is described as "Xbox Deals Unlocked E3 Week," at least for the Xbox stuff. 1. Xbox Deals: "Now starting at $199: Save up to $100 on Xbox One, including all-new Xbox One S Fortnite Special Edition and All-Digital consoles." 2. E3 game sale: "Save up to 75% on digital games . . ." 3. Take up to $50 off: "Lose yourself in the game and save on select gaming headsets for Xbox One." 4. "Save up to $20 on official Xbox gear like shirts, snap-back caps, and more." View the slides at the top of this webpage, in order to view the things that I just mentioned. Microsoft has a real helpful "pause" button so you can stop any one of the slides. That's just the tip of the iceberg of deals. To see more, first make sure that you click on "consoles," "digital games," "accessories," and/or "games (disc)," just below the slides--any of those are of interest to you. Then keep scrolling down to see a whole bunch of other deals, on other items! Somewhere I saw a couple of gaming computers marked down, but I don't see them now. The URL, again, is https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/stor..._E3Sale_060719. Another webpage that shows some deals is https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/b/home. The promotion began today, June 7 EDT, and for the E3 game sale, at least, is scheduled to end June 17. Last edited by GtrsRGr8; 06-08-2019 at 12:43 AM. |

"I just this offer in my email. Can anyone tell us if the offer's a good one (still in effect, etc.)?" I already have this Biblical Archaeology Review subscription package (maybe with some slight differences); I don't know when it expires. If the offer's good for me, as a current subscriber, I'm going to see if I can extend my package; if not, I might look into canceling my current subscription, if there's not much time left on it, and starting over with this one. The deal is that fantastic! I don't remember what the advertised price is, shown inside the magazine issues, but I don't think that I'm exaggerating to say that it's around the $100 mark. |

I hope that I don't miss out on the deal because I'm already a customer. I'll have to call them, and see if I can "wheel and deal" like (seemingly) a lot of you do with Amazon/Audible. |

I wasn't really posting the deal, just asking a question about it. But this deal starts with a year's (bimonthly) print subscription, then there's a year's digital subscription, and then it goes on and on from there. For $9. That's not $9 per week or month. That's $9 for a year.

I'm sure that a lot of MobileReaders will appreciate that information.
Little-by-little, as I grew up to become a full-fledged adult, I watched TV and movies (including videos) less and less, to the point now that I never watch TV--literally. I bought a cable package, that has some basic TV channels, but I only got the package because of the high-speed Internet included in the package. I've got a very small flat screen HD TV, but it's been boxed up for a while. I've bought a bunch of DVD's, thinking that I'd at least watch them, but I probably won't. I don't even watch any YouTube (Vimeo, et al.) videos, unless I have to in order to learn how to do something. Yeah, I'm unusual. I mean, "different." I posted the Ireland video as a public service, because I thought that some MobileReaders would like to know about it. It seems that a lot of people who like watching videos and TV don't like the non-fiction stuff though. Kind of like how it is with books. Last edited by GtrsRGr8; 06-26-2019 at 04:46 AM. |
