Half of the books where added, the other half returned "unknown" in place of metadata and the error popped up.

You're getting this error only for PDF files?

Hello,
the answer is yes. I have found 4 PDF which trigger the error. Once one is opened all the subsequent PDF Calibre Opens he is not able to read metadata and fires the errors.

yes, if a pdf causes the pdf reading library to crash, then that is what happens. Unfortunately, there is no way to fix this easily. Just add those 4 pdf files individually.
