Free and bargain romances in February 2013
As requested, here is an outline of the purpose of this thread:
We point out free and bargain romances to each other, and occasionally recommend certain books that are/were free (or the opposite!). Because Kindle freebies are easiest to find, the majority of the books listed are from Amazon, but freebies and bargains from other retailers and in other formats are more than welcome! In case no retailer is specifically mentioned in a post, it is safe to assume it's for Amazon US. Be aware that many freebies are only free for a day, so grab them fast. Enjoy! |

Here's a backlist title, free today from Amazon, with a long history: Rose, Rose Where Are You? by Nicola Thorne.
It appears to have first been published under the same name by Rosemary Ellerbeck (a pseudonym of Thorne) by Hale in 1978. In 2004 it was published by Severn House as The House By The Sea by Nicola Thorne. Publisher's Weekly description: ‘A captivating French seaside Gothic romance with supernatural overtones … history, spookiness and suspense.’ |

For those who have used ChristianBook in the past, they have made a change recently (I suspect effective today): you cannot download ANY book if it was free when added to your account. You may ONLY read those in their app.
Even the DRM-free EPUB's, that cost them nothing to distribute (bandwidth, but anyone can get a cheap account with pretty much unlimited space and bandwidth for about $10/month. So -- has anyone used their app and do you know if it interferes with ADE or lets you grab the EPUBs out of it? |

That sucks. What about those with eReaders and no internet? They will lose alot business that way.
