Pocketbook 627 - Too high contrast after screen replacement
Hi, last week I have replaced a screen on my 3 years old PB 627 (Touch Lux 4) and to my and vendors surprise the screen displays images way darker than it should.
From my experience it seems that the screen is being overdriven/volted as it is ghosting af and compression artefacts on pictures are quite visible. But a simple screen refresh gets rid of them completely and the screen is snow white, which suggests that the screen is fine and there is something else going on. I went from screen EX060XCD to ED060XH7 which should not make any difference as the only difference between these two is/should be where the capacitive touch layer is relative to the screen (if it is on top or below the glass layer). Otherwise it should be identical e-ink panel. Did anyone else experienced this issue? Is there some service/secret setting in the system, that I can change so that it fixes the problem? OR Can it be only dealt with on a HW level aka some resistors or whatnot? If it can be changed via system settings which are only accessible via jailbreak/root of PB I am open to try that as well. On the left is the new screen and on the right is the original device's screen. |
