Images of ChessCafe.com not downloaded

Hi,

I am trying to create my first recipe for ChessCafe.com (http://www.chesscafe.com/rss.xml).
The articles are fetched and the ads are removed. That' great! But it looks like the images are not downloaded. The problem seems to be that the image can only be downloaded after you have opened the article. If I try to access the image without opening the article I get an 404. But the link works after I have opened the article.
Any ideas how to fix this?

Set auto_cleanup = False in the recipe, its most likely that the auto cleanup algorithm is inadvertantly removing the images. You can use the remove_tags/keep_tags facilities for manual cleanup instead.

The images are still missing with auto_clean = False. I find this message in the log for each image:
