Chrome OS
I was wondering if, when the Chrome OS is released, the eDGe would be able to run it? Do we really want it, or is Android good enough? What are you opinions?

Good idea, but I doubt it would have the ability (never mind the drivers) to support the e-ink side. As for the touchscreen side.... maayyybbeee.

Potentially interesting news on this front: http://www.linuxjournal.com/content/...eaking+News%29 Google just announced their upcoming "gPad" and it will run Android, NOT Chrome OS. I gotta think that the Android market/apps will start to cater towards larger screens soon, no?

I believe I read that the Chrome OS would only allow web browsing. No applications. No downloads from the web. To me, this just didn't sound useful, though I guess it might be for, say, a school setting. No viruses ;-) Maybe Chrome has changed - I hope so.
I think Android is the better netbook OS - but they really, really need to open Google Market! And make Google Market better. I've read some criticisms of it being hard to navigate, especially compared to Apple. |
