Calibre for OS X High Sierra?

The OS is not even 3 years old - no support for the latest version of Calibre?

Correct. You need MacOS Mojave (10.14.xx) just as the download page says. Given that most Apple hardware that does not support Mojave is getting rather long in the tooth, why not upgrade?

Me too. It's all well and good saying "why don't you upgrade", but I can't afford a mew macbook pro, and mine wont upgrade further than High Sierra, so I guess I'm stuck!

You can go to the Calbre website and download the version that works on your Mac. I have to use 3.48 on my MacBook.

"If you are using macOS older than 10.14 (Mojave), the last version of calibre that will work on your machine is 3.48.
If you are using macOS 10.8 (Mountain Lion), the last version of calibre that will work on your machine is 2.85.1."
