The Raspbian repository? Just your standard apt install. For the Debian, you'll need to add the repository and then install.

Suggestion 1: Search for the selected text in the book from the menu visible when selecting some text.

Suggestion 2: Add a close button to the controls in the viewer to go back to the library, instead of having to go to the home page and selecting the library.

Suggestion 3: Right click to remove or edit a highlight and clicking in the Highlights panel.

Bug 1: Selecting a highlight in the Highlights panel and clicking on the Edit button gives me this error:

@jony08: In the next beta you will have the option of adding a searchin book button to the selection bar. Your second suggestion has nothing to do with the beta. And your third suggestion is not going to happen. Right click is reserved for showing the viewer controls. Your bug has already been reported and is fixed for the next beta.

On the first time--and only the first time--that I ran calibre 4.99.9 after installing it, I got an error message.

By the fact that it's something in winreg, I speculate that it's something that may only happen on the first run and therefore be worth reporting for the rarity value if nothing else.

Doesn't give me any output, so I assume it imported and exited correctly when run alone like that.

Race condition with winreg running before everything was setup maybe?

The everything here is the import of a standard library module, dont see how that could not be setup. What does this do:

calibre-debug --default-programs=register

That's the code path your exception is from, so at this point going to chalk it up to gremlins.

I haven't noticed any other difference in 4.99, working well for me so far.

@kovidgoyal I tried the new version, calibre 4.99.10. It looks great.

Suggestion 1: Move the Cancel to the right next to the Create button in the Add note window.
Suggestion 2: Use a OK button instead of a Create button to make it more consistent with other windows.

Released 4.99.10 with the following changes:

1) The selection handles now show alongside the selection bar, so you can adjust the selection at any time, no need to enter a separate mode.

2) The entire viewer (and content server) UI and the highlight colors now auto-adapt to light and dark themes. (Auto-adapt works with highlights created with this beta onwards, not older ones)

3) You can create underline/strikeout/etc highlight styles.

4) The notes/color edit panel has been made more compact.

5) You can bulk delete and edit highlights from the browse annotations tool

6) You can add a "search in book" button to the selection bar

7) Indicate current color on quick highlight icon

8) Fix browse annotations empty on every second invocation

9) Fix search not working

10) Fix Edit button in highlights panel not working

11) Removed keyboard shortcut and "Add highlight" button for creating highlights since there is no longer a dedicated "create highlight mode"

I am hoping that barring bugs I am done with highlights. Thanks for all the feedback to help polish this feature.
