That's right, for just an extra $30 you can have an extra premium gold color on your Oasis 2. I'm glad to see the internals are the same....not a refresh, just a new color.

The extra $30 is for the 32 GB upgrade, the only version shown as to be available with the champagne color aluminum back. Not available on the most expensive version with cellular communications as well as wi-fi and 32 GB.

Useless if in a clip on cover but I used to like the fact that Sony readers were available in multiple colors. I have red, black and silver Sony PRS-650 readers.

So there is no charge for the different color and news sites are living up to their reputations.

Apparently not so with the Champagne Gold. For fun, I selected the 32GB without special offers and it defaulted to with special offers, "option you selected is not available."

There is also a "Gold" color option that does allow removal of special offers.

So, two gold colors with limited options??

I am able to select SO or no SO with either color (32GB).

I’ve only seen one Oasis, a demo unit at Amazon Books (just after it launched). The one I saw had gold back/trim, not graphite. I thought it was a bit ugly - would really prefer graphite.

So Amazon is charging $30 more for a gold color ? I think the money would be better spent if they added solar charging as an option instead. Then call it the sun charger in gold.

It is the same price. They are not offering 8GB model (or 3G) with this color.

God I so want this even tho its a waste. Logically with my snap in covers I will not see the gold but I will know it is there lol. If I knew this in advance I would have waited before buying mine. Now if they came out with Rose Gold I will loose my mind for that is what I would love
