[solved] Kobo Glo not detected

Hello,

First of all, as it is my first post, I'd like to give a round of thanks. I've been following this forum for several years, and it's here that I found a solution to every problem I've ever encountered managing Calibre, my Glo, and my public library's 30 readers (Glos and PRS-T2s), as well as discovering useful plugins and firmware links.

I recently reinstalled my computer after changing a few parts, and proceeded to install Calibre and load my library. First of all, my library doesn't work properly. It seems to load the opf file as the actual ebook and nothing works. Anyway, I haven't really looked into that so I won't bother you with it yet.

The issue that upsets me the most is that my Kobo Glo isn't detected at all by Calibre. It is detected, correctly identified and installed by the system (there's a KoboeReader drive all right, and I can browse it with the explorer), but nothing appears in Calibre at all. I've tried several cables and USB ports, to no avail. I've tried the option to connect a specific folder, and Calibre sees it but it doesn't make any sense of it, the content (my library) doesn't appear in a usable way.

I connected the Kobo to my wifi yesterday and got the 3.12.1 OTA update before I try to connect it to my computer. Maybe is it related ?

Here's the device log :

I apologize in advance if this should have been posted in the Kobo forum, and if this issue has been resolved a hundred times, I haven't managed to find relevant posts...

Thanks !

Paul

The weird thing is that you SHOULD be seeing a drive letter listed after the line
Code:
Drives detected:
. Are you sure that a driver letter has been assigned by Windows to the Kobo?

If you look at my Device Detection log you will see what I mean
Code:
calibre 2.19 [64bit] isfrozen: True is64bit: True
Windows-7-6.1.7601-SP1 Windows ('64bit', 'WindowsPE')
('Windows', '7', '6.1.7601')

Yes I know I show:
Code:
Disabled plugins: iOSReaderApp KOBOTOUCHEXTENDED KOBO KOBOTOUCH
; that was done to get the Debug Device Detection log displayed.

Hey, thank you for your quick answer. Yes, Windows assigned the letter K. I manually changed it to D:, just in case, to no avail.

BUT, I found the culprit, and I'm publicly denouncing it, so it might help someone. It's Asus USB 3.0 Boost, a optional program that comes with AI Suite III, Asus motherboards' management software. It's supposed to speed up USB devices transfer rate.

The second I disabled the "turbo mode" for the Kobo (which had been enabled by default by the way, I didn't actually do anything apart from not saying no to USB 3.0 Boost when installing my new mobo softs), it appeared in Calibre.

Problem solved !

Thanks

Paul
