Without knowing more, it could be just a matter of changing all instances of /sys/class/power_supply/battery/ to /sys/class/power_supply/mc13892_bat/ in the script.

When you telnet/ssh to your Libra 2, what directories do you see in /sys/class/power_supply/? Are you modifying the script to match what is displayed there? See message #1418 in this thread for @Dirk-71's comments.

SOLUTION:

The path and the commands have been changed in the latest firmware. So, the script has to be adapted accordingly. The path is mc13892_bat instead of battery:

Which commands replace which commands?

As a start, try following the instructions posted by that fine fellow, JSWolf in the message quoted above.

Open file with Nickelmenu

Hi, I just installed Nickelmenu yesterday and I'm wondering if you can simply open a specific file (png, epub,PDF) using Nickelmenu.

No. You can open a specific view in the library (authors, series, collections), but you can't open specific books.

Question

I'm having an issue with the experimental parameters. I can change the Nickelmenu label to make it say "Shortcuts0" (just a placeholder name to make sure I could change it), but I haven't been able to change "My Books" to "Books" and "My Notebook" to "Notes".

Here's the relevant part of my config file:

Code:
experimental: menu_main_15505_enabled: 1
experimental: menu_main_15505_label: Shortcuts0
experimental: menu_main_15505_2_enabled: 1
experimental: menu_main_15505_2_label: Books
experimental: menu_main_23145_3_enabled: 1
experimental: menu_main_23145_3_label: Notes
experimental: menu_main_23145_default: 0
Maybe this is no longer possible in the latest firmware, but I just wanted to check. Thanks for any help you could give me.

I tried to make a script for the first time, and its not going well, I want to replace a line in a file with a different line using sed and for some reason its giving me an error when launched with nickelmenu, when I launch the script in Windows it works. Could someone please show an example script. Thx

Does anyone know if there's a way to hide the nickelmenu icon on the main navigation bar at the bottom but keep it for search/library/reading screens?

Using NickelMenu with Google Translate API

I'm looking to use my Google Translate API to translate text instead of the nickel browser. So far, I've got DeepL API translation working with the following:

Quote:
menu_item :selection : DeepL Translation :cmd_output :9999:/usr/bin/wget --header='Authorization: DeepL-Auth-Key [MYAUTHKEY]' --post-data='target_lang=EN&text={1|S|%}' -qO - https://api-free.deepl.com/v2/translate | jq '.translations[0].text' | fold -s -w 55

I'm trying to get the same thing going with Google Translate using the following:

Quote:
menu_item :selection :Google Translate :cmd_output :9999:/usr/bin/wget --header='key=[MYGOOGLEAPI]' --post-data='q={1|S|%}&target=en' -O - https://translation.googleapis.com/l...e/translate/v2 | jq '.translations[0].text' | fold -s -w 55
But I just end up with a 400 Bad Request message. I've tried the url

https://translation.googleapis.com/l...0ami&target=en in my browser to test language detection and see if I can figure out where I'm going wrong, but it works perfectly.

Any ideas? (And thanks in advance!)

I'm far from an expert, but from what I could gather from the documentation, I was able to clean up your syntax. Try this:

Code:
experimental: menu_main_15505_1_enabled: 1
experimental: menu_main_15505_1_label: Books

experimental: menu_main_15505_3_enabled: 1
experimental: menu_main_15505_3_label: Notes

A few years back I posted this method to use Google Translate via NickelMenu:
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...92&postcount=4

I haven't used it in a little while but it should still be working. I checked the Translate URL just now from a computer (don't have my Kobo handy) and it works fine.

I'm not super familiar with Linux but if I had to guess, the problem is probably that the stuff toward the end of your DeepL command can't just be copied to the Translate one. Those commands are parsing the results from DeepL so you'd have to change them to parse the Translate results which are probably in a different format.
