USB driver does not recognize Ebookwise

I use the Ebook USB driver in combination with the EBW Librarian software.
The driver does not recognize the Ebookwise anymore though. I used to doubleclick on the driver and it appeared in the system tray and I then connected the Ebookwise and it was automatically recognized.

Now when I connect the Ebookwise the driver keeps indicating Ebook not connected and I get a generic USB device not recognized message from my PC.

Any solutions?

You may have already tried this, so if so, I apologize. But sometimes I have this problem, and what I do is reboot my system leaving the USB cable plugged into the drive. Then when it comes back up, everything works fine.

Worth a shot - if it still doesn't work, I know from personal experience that eBookwise has terrific customer service.

I was going to swoop in and attempt to save the day but I can't find the USB cable to save my life. The one I thought was correct is for a digital camera but is still slightly the wrong shape. If someone has a link to a replacement, I'd appreciate it.

I use actually a smartmedia card in a reader and Calibre software to transfer books to the reader although I've not used either of my 1150s in several years. The reader I have is meant for use in a 3.5" bay, it is currently living in a printed enclosure.

Yes as well as two other computers. Since found a 3rd USB cable that had never been used. Still doesn't work.

I moved on to kindle long ago but my sister LOVES the ebookwise...Of course now I cant get any books onto it so she is having to figure out my spare kindle. I mean in the long run the kindle is much better it is just baffling how the ebookwise just suddenly stopped working. I even tried wiping a PC and installing xp pro with absolutely no updates done. So it doesnt appear to be a software update causing it. I tried setting the date back a couple years on the laptop in case it was some kind of date conflict. Made no difference. It could be the USB cables but sorta doubting all 3 are bad especially the one that was sealed in a plastic baggie that it came in.

I was able to purchase a new USB cable on Amazon. The PC goes bubuink when I plug the ebook in and it shows up in device manager but it won't connect. I've tried my 64 bit windows 10 desktop and a 32 bit windows 10 virtual machine, neither have worked. he best I can offer is to get a card reader online and use a SmartMedia card. If you don't have a card, let me know. I have a few NIB 128 MB cards and will send you one no charge.
