Firmware 2.10.0 Released - Page 2

I am pretty sure that 2.10.0 will only be sent to the Glo, Aura and Aura HD. I'm hoping the next one will go to the Mini and Touch.

I currently have 2.8.1 and 2.10 is not yet available for me. In 2.8.1 there is one very annoying issue when reading books in pdf format that are zoomed-in and the book is in landscape mode. Everytime i turn next page, the location of the new page is BOTTOM LEFT corner of the zoomed-in sheet. It should be top left. Is this issue fixed?

Have they resinstated the black bar at the bottom and put the light control back at the bottom?

Have stuck to 2.5.1 because of these issues. Be interested to see if these are back.

That "Back to where you came from" button sounds nice. But I'm not sure that will be enough to make me give up 2.8.1 with patch, with which I am very happy indeed.

Now if they really fixed the LPB and made the headers and footers optional...

Nope. Don't see it happening any time soon, either.

Correct buffaloseven. From what we can tell, the Kobo UI/UX team have a vision they are working towards, and that does not include items like that.

Makes sense. The shadowing problems along the bottom are pretty much solved (at least if my browsing at Chapters is representative) even with newer-generation Glos. That negates the need or a black bar.

It's also obvious that multitouch is the future, period, so there are gestures for changing the brightness now.

Personally, I don't mind; the changes haven't bothered me too much and I'm on a launch Glo.

I still don't have the Desktop upgrade in Aus, so we're probably a very long way down the list for the device update.

Yep - I'm also keen for Murg to receive the necessary copy so that it can be posted.

I've gotten out of the habit of even looking for the update before at least a week has passed from its initial release. I guess we really do live at the arse end of the world. And, I guess it helps that the current firmware is mostly working for me.

As soon as someone posts a link publicly, I'll put it in the Direct Links thread.
