Can't upload books form Amazon into Calibre

Hello,

I am trying to upload recently purchaced amzon books into Calibre with no success.

Please see attached image.

The names are just the book cereal numbers as in the MyKindleContent folder and the books won't open.

I have the latest version of Calibre. What can I do?

Amazon books have "DRM" encryption that restricts each file to a particular kindle or the kindle app on a particular device. Calibre can not read those encrypted files out of the box.

There are plug-ins to Calibre that will decrypt these file. Search for "DeDRM" on Mobileread or Github, or "Apprentice Alf" or "Apprentice Harper" on Google.

Alf and Harper have passed the torch on to NoDRM. You need to go there for the latest.

Also see this thread for other steps you will need to take in order to obtain files that are amenable to DRM removal.
