File Open dialog causes Calibre 64bit to crash

Since today, after upgrade to 1.18, my Calibre 64bit (win7) crashes every time it has to open the "File Open" dialog (add book, install plugin from zip, even selecting library location after fresh install).
I did:
- clean install (removed calibre specific content from system\users...folders)
- set CALIBRE_NO_NATIVE_FILEDIALOGS variable
but none helped.

Calibre 32bit works fine

no crash here - same version, same 64 bit win 7

add books brings up the windows explorer window for file/folder select....

you could try a complete remove with a utility like revo uninstaller , then a clean install- the problem may be within app data.

can you describe the "crash" in more detail - what error messages....

@glypto - what cybmole said

Also try giving Calibre a 'dedicated' Temp folder via the CALIBRE_TEMP_DIR environment variable.
