4:3 ones as they are closer to A4 A5 height-width ratio which is about 4.24:3

Yes, that's why the iPad, with its 4:3 aspect ratio, works better as a reader than most of the Android tablet, which are 16:9.

Not necessarily. I find most manga scans to be geared towards 16:10 aspect ratio (1280x800 usually).

You should also consider the dpi of the screen. I found it's easier to read on Galaxy tab 8.9 than ipad due to the screen resolution and the pixel density.

Best available now is 1024x768. Higher DPI than the available 8 - 10 inchers means that it would be tiny.

Only if the original images are small. If the original images have higher resolution as is often the case (I've found most of mine to be around 1200px in height), then higher DPI means better clarity and sharper images. Even text with uber tiny font can be legible without zooming.

Alas, I don't think there are 4:3 tablets out in the market right now with higher than 1024x768 resolution. Rumors are the iPad 3 will have it, though, and I reckon the rest will follow.

What type of screen? If it's a resistive touch screen - avoid.
