I'm also experiencing this issue. I'm not sure how to use the commit fix to fix my own Calibre. Is there going to be a fix with the next Calibre release?

Yes, that fix will be in the next release of calibre. You could use it earlier if you were running calibre from source.

Since I don't know how to run the program from the source I'll wait patiently for the next release.

The Scroll Book Details plugin alleviates the problem. Very simple, press Space to scroll Book Details down, Shift+Space to it scroll up.
