You could edit the sigil.ini file found under edit preferences, open preferences folder.

I found an easy way to clear them. Once I finished with the files I usualy move them elswhere and delete from the work location. After that when I click at the recent item which is no longer in that location sigil removes it from the list.

That's easier than editing one file?

Ah... ok. I misunderstood. All that moving and deleting and clicking on non-existent recent files to make them go away sounded quite convoluted to me. But if you already do everything except that last step as part of your process then, sure ... I guess that could be perceived as easy.

If I weren't familiar with Sigil or any program, I would be hesitant to mess with an ini file, figuring I could lock it up and make it unrecoverable.

That's fair. Although it was 'ease' being discussed, rather scariness.
