How to get Book Cover's to the Archos 70b ? - Page 2

In a situation where the cover is not shown on the archos 70b the cover is a jpeg in my situation, the cover.jpeg is placed in the root of the unzipped epub. If the cover is shown it is a jpg file. I have also seen a situation where the cover was placed in the OEBPS folder, it had a different name (cover_???.jpeg), no cover was present in the root. In this case the cover was visible in the archos 70b!
Seeing Wilcoo's reply i assume the opf file also says jpg and that is the reason for creating a jpg? Strange enough the cover is not visible in this case (assumption?)

Hello everyone,

thanx for helping to find the problem.

after combining al your answer i tried the following

1. i select to book
2. pressed t
3. epub extract
4. (sometimes) moved the picture tot the root
5. renamed the picture to "cover.jpg"
6. deleted the book from my ereader
7. send it again to the ereader

after that the cover is visible on my ereader.

BUT how can i automatically get this for all my 400+ books ?

When i press "C" in calibre
and convert to book to an epub
the will be an "calibre_raster_cover.jpg".

How can i take care that after the convert the always is called "cover.jpg" ?

There is no way to do it automatically. You have to edit your files by hand afterwards, or bug archos to fix their software.

thanx for your answer.

but can't you put a selection box in the "convert" "epub" tab to make sure it is an cover.jpg in stead of a calibre_raster_cover.jpg ?

i have over 400 books.
