Collins, Wilkie: Collected Short Works. v1. 16 Sep 2021

Presenting more than 50 short stories and novellas, 10 “portmanteau” collaborative stories to which Collins contributed, and 50 essays.

==============
William Wilkie Collins (8 January 1824 – 23 September 1889) was an English novelist, playwright, and short story writer.
Collins remains most famous for his novels The Woman in White (1859) and The Moonstone (1868), in which he pioneered a new style of “sensation” writing, the influence of which can still be seen in today’s culture in the genres of crime, mystery and suspense. The Moonstone is considered to be the first modern English detective novel.

He is also noted for his close relationship with Charles Dickens, who regarded him as the most talented of his many protégés.

==============
The following authors appear in the “Collaborations” section:
Charles Dickens (1812–1870)
William Howitt (1792–1879)
John Berwick Harwood (1828–1899)
George Augustus Sala (1828–1895)
Charles A. Collins (1828–1873)
Henry F. Chorley (1808–1872)
Rev. James White (1803–1862)
Holme Lee [Harret Parr] (1828–1900)
Adelaide Anne Procter (1825–1864)
Amelia B. Edwards (1831–1892)
Elizabeth Gaskell (1810–1865)
Eliza Lynn [Linton] (1822–1893)
Hesba Stretton (1832–1911)

==============
Contents were first published 1843–1887. This ebook is in the public domain worldwide, because the authors died more than 100 years ago, and contents were published prior to 1925.
