William Le Queux (1864–1927)
The Great White Queen: A Tale of Treasure and Treason (1897) A novel of action and adventure, with some similarities to Rider Haggard’s “She”. Both feature lost African kingdoms with imperious queens. In this tale, the narrator is a young Englishman whose best friend at school turns out to be an African prince, who must return and reclaim his kingdom from the usurping Great White Queen. This work is assumed to be in the Life+70 public domain OR the copyright holder has given specific permission for distribution.
