UK 3G prices - bizarre?
http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/hom...te_plans_apple
Vodafone charging £10 a month for 250mb when O2 will do 1gb for the same amount. I hope that is a misprint - no details on the Vodafone site at the moment, but I will have to change micro-SIMs before it has even arrived if that is true! amjb |

That is very strange as it would mean they have gone out of their way to create a new tariff just for the ipad rather than going with their normal options. You have to assume it is a misprint and that is actually going to be their per day option with there most likely being a £15 a month for 3gb tariff like on their mobile broadband.

No details on the O2 site either - on the ball as ever, clicking on O2's 'more details' link takes you to a blank page...
Orange seem to have the most comprehensive range of tariffs (I've ordered mine with an Orange SIM) but at least with three networks offering very different options, there's something for everyone, from 5p/Mb 'pay for what you use' on Orange to 5Gb/month for £25 on VOD. Thought it was silly that you could only order one SIM per iPad though - I would have happily picked up all three (for 20p each, why not?) and used the one with the best coverage for my needs <shrug> Pete |

Presumably the carriers aren't that interested in the per day tariffs to start with, but once the initial rush has been dealt with I am sure they will be happy to sell you a sim in the hope of getting you to go for one of the monthly options.

Why would anyone use an iPad specific tariff? the iPad is unlocked so just get a normal data tariff
eg the o2 simplicity iPhone tariff is £15 a month and has unlimited data it isnt a contract but it is a monthly payment! just cut the sim down and put that in the iPad. yes your also getting call and text message but the data aspect is better than the iPad deals if you want complete pay as you go then choose one of the 3g mobile data stick deals even they are cheaper than these pointless ipad deals[ |

Anyone know if any of the plans allow international roaming?

Vodafone issue seems to be fixed - Apple Store down at moment, but MacWorld saying they've seen a press release with at least the £10 level in line with O2.
No word on roaming - I doubt we'll be happy though! |
