what's the difference between Calibre and Calibre Companion?
I've been away from the community for several years. I've been walking a friend through using Calibre and she asked what about Calibre Companion - I'm not sure of the differences? I notice on the main Calibre download page there are links for IOS and Android - is Companion something different?
Also, I notice it's a paid app. |

Calibre Companion was an app developed for supporting Calibre libraries on iOS and Android, as Calibre itself has no iOS or Android app. "Was" because it's basically abandoned by its current developer (who has nothing to do with Calibre; the original developer of Calibre Companion is still actively participating in Calibre development).
