Freezed on "boot screen" after several months not in use

Hello everyone,

I tried to look issues similar to mine in this forum but couldn't find anything.

I have an Aura HD for ~18 months. I didn't use it for several months and yesterday morning I tried to open it. Screen went on and I plugged it to my USB charger like I usually do to charge it (but didnt check if it was actually charging).

Yesterday evening, when I came back, the reader was stuck on the 5 boxes screen (boot screen). Impossible to open it up/shut it down, absolutely no response when I plug it in the computer and no led when plugged in USB charger (I don't remember if I saw the led when I plugged it in the morning).

Tried all reset types, tried to charge it several hours on different USB chargers, nothing works.

Any idea why? Have you experienced chargers that doesn't work with your Aura HD? (All 1 to 2 A)

Any suggestion? I plan to call Kobo tomorrow but maybe one of you know a quick fix...

Thanks again for reading my novel.

Cheers,

Francois

News: It works now...

I opened it: Battery @ 4.17v. (Fully charged).
Unplugged the battery for 3-4 min. Plugged it back. Still not working.
Pressed reset button and it worked.

Hope this helps someone one day!

Cheers,

Francois

Hi FrancoisC,

Thanks for the information. Maybe its my case also. I hope so.

Can you tell me please how to safely unplug the battery? I think I found the socket - it is at the end of the wires that come out of the battery? There is small socket on the board the wires are fitted, but I am afraid to disconnect, becuase I do not know to pull or to glide ... and I am afraid not to break anything so small.
My battery is different 1500 mAh, 3.7V

I have non responding device - black screen, no charging, from time to time blinking of sceen when push some button and the light on th start glide is blinking randomly (for me) when push a button or try to charge.

Can you tell me when charging normally is there any light that should come on around the start glide? Or no indication for charging except screen icon.

Your post was much appreciated
Thanks a lot
