PDF to ePub

What would cause a 3694 KB PDF file convert to a 128 KB epub file? I converted in calibre and am only getting 3 pages in epub.

TIA

PDF's are notoriously hard to convert well. Did you use Calibre for the conversion?

If memory serves me well, calibre makes separated files at <insert>
range, probably 128 kb as default. You might be willing to try new
application out: sigil. Also, the way epub is contained will be at your
hand.
Best regards.

I use Stanza desktop for PDF's that are unruly. It works well. You might need to put the resulting epub back in Calibre so as not to to have it come up in the reader "unknown". All very trial and error to me, but Stanza always makes nice text files from pdf.
