Have you ever dropped an ereader in the bath?

Personally I suspect the dangers of dropping an ereader in the bath while reading have been vastly exaggerated. I love to read in the bath, as did Winston Churchill. It is time to put this myth to rest using advanced statistical analysis.

I voted "never read in the bath". I mostly take showers. I do take a bath every once in a while to help me relax, but I wouldn't bring an ereader. I am very klutzy and would be likely to drop it, or set it down on the side of the tub and accidentally knock it in.

I'm strictly a shower person, so no, I've never dropped a reader in a tub and never will. There would have to be some strong medical reason to get me to sit in a tub (or staying at my old favorite fishing lake, where the cabins only had tubs without showers).

I used to read in the bath. But I probably haven't had a bath for ten years or more - only showers.

My bathtub is my favorite reading spot. I have never dropped an ereader in the bath. I use my waterproof readers just in case, but I think the concern isn't only dropping them, but just getting it wet in general with hands. I've accidentally done a few dips of the bottom of the reader in the water.

I have to wonder how many people would be willing to admit that they dropped their ereader in the bathtub, pool, ocean, etc.

I wouldn't personally consider it a shameful act.

I've been told I'm weird for not liking to read in the bath.

Here's the thing - I get the idea of it. You're comfortable and relaxed and you are going to spend some time there so why not combine it with another relaxing thing, reading? It works as an idea.

For me though, it fails in practice. Because as soon as I raise my hands out of the water to hold up my book or ereader, I want to put them back in again. It's like being told you can't scratch your nose. You probably didn't even think about your nose and suddenly all you can do is think about how itchy it is. I just want to dip my arms under the water and out again.

I can't do that with a book. I can do that with a water-proof ereader I suppose but whilst it might not damage it, it doesn't do much for the reading experience.

To read in the bath I need an ereader that projects an image onto the wall and has mind control page-turning.

Or audiobooks. They work.

I voted Once. I haven't dropped my reader in the water, but in the past I have dropped a book (I should have known not to read a book titled Drop City in the tub). And my aunt ruined her first Kindle by dropping it in the bath. It does happen.

Also, just this morning, my cat knocked over a large cup right near my Surface. Luckily I rescued everything. But waterproofing is for more than just a bath.

I only take a bath VERY rarely, and when I do it's always for muscle relaxation, with lots of bath salts/gels etc and complete submersion from the neck down. No hands out of the water holding anything. Even my rubber duckie is breath-propelled.

The option for Never, but I never read in the bath is going to screw with the results. You don't want this option. You just want yes or no. Even the multiple times is not needed.
