In the conversation after a dinner-party, someone recounts the story of a murder at the Red Inn, many years before. A merchant carrying diamonds and gold had been murdered and robbed. An innocent man has been executed for the crime. The narrator realises that the murderer is present at the dinner. But there is a problem. He has recently fallen in love with the killer’s daughter ….
