I am about 80% through:

I read the whole trilogy straight through and really enjoyed it...and I don't even care for history!

Why are you making us click a link to see the book? It also makes it impossible to find your post if anyone searches this thread for a specific author or book to see what other MobileRead members have said about it.

I found no links at all in his post, just an amazon.com cover image and his short post.

Not sure why a link is showing up instead of the picture but....the book is

The System of the World by Neal Stephenson.

If words are preferred instead of pictures, I will go that route from now on.....i like to see book covers

especially since I don't see them on a Kindle!

Personally, I like covers, but you might type in the title/author in either the title or the body as well, couldn't hurt.

The last book I finished reading was Death of a Saint by Lily Herne. This is a YA zombie novel set in South Africa and is the second book in the Mall Rat series. While YA isn't normally my thing I quite enjoyed the entire series so far due to the different take on zombies and the South African setting.

The series will be published in the UK next year and it would be interesting to see a non-SA take on it.

And it was fun. Another excellent adventure with Gideon Oliver. A Mayan curse and a bit of mayhem, along with a fun detective puzzle. I suspect I'm going to be looking for the others in the series, and at least adding them to a wish list.

The last one of my fictionwise subscription. I'm going to have to buy them issue-by-issue from now on, as Fictionwise are no longer offering subscriptions.

I'm just contemplating buying Michael Grant's "Gone" series, or at least the first one. Anyone tried them? Looks suspiciously like YA, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
