I also compiled a non-illustrated version, but "How the Alphabet Was Made" section makes very little sense without the illos, even though they boost the file size. But, since I compiled it, I'm attaching it as well. The larger file, of course, is the illustrated version.

I tried to reduce the illustrations sizes in some cases, and it really didn't work at all - not sure what I did wrong there. Kipling's commentaries on the illustrations aren't present; I may or may not try to incorporate them in a future version.
