Sorry i honestly dont know what u mean by pbook? The idea in the OP is for learners but also adults with ADHD, dyslexia, general poor concentration or even just someone who has to read a boring book for work.... I would use it on my Forma...which in fact I would be holding up, not putting down on a desk (creating bad posture and neck pain). I do actually have some of these reading aids with the slits in. I expect it would be a bit of an effort to move them down the screen with one hand and I would worry about scratching. Last edited by LivresInOz; 04-29-2022 at 07:12 AM. |

pbook = paper book.
I don’t know about specific apps. I think (may be wrong) there is an android app that puts an electronic overlay on screen. Google chrome has an add-in for screen reading this way. It might be worth contacting an online dyslexia specialist shop or a partially sighted society as they might know of something? Good luck. |

FWIW the kindle app on my iPhone and iPad already have a reading ruler available in the more section of the themes/font settings. It defaults to off but can be turned on.

I have a clear plastic rod that provides a red line and magnification of a line of text above the line. A bigger line does stand out.

I cannot see this focus card being of much use in KOReader. I cannot see many people with such reading difficulties using KOReader. It just seems to be a feature that will take more time to create then the use it will get.

I guess Amazon wouldn't put effort into it if they didn't think readers would find it useful! |

A kindly recap on how things work here:
Work is done on a voluntary basis. Maintainers don't want to work on features they don't care about. Contributors usually contribute code that fits their own needs. Maintainers do welcome all kind of crazy feature requests on the form of code patches. They decide if the patch is good enough and/or fits in the scope of the app. For all kind of "out-of-scope" features there's https://github.com/koreader/contrib. The best way to get an enhancement is to submit a patch against the main repo and gather feedback. Worst case scenario: not accepted upstream but you can still use it as a standalone plugin. |

It seems that somebody went ahead and implemented the feature OP requested.
