PDF conversion error
I have a pdf I am trying to convert to epub.

When I try to run the wizard in "Search & replace" it gives the following error:

calibre, version 7.20.0
ERROR: Failed to generate preview: Failed to generate markup for testing. Click "Show details" to learn more.

The PDF does have searchable text. It had been originally created in Adobe Acrobat.

Hmmm Kovid might want to look at that message boxes wording, but the question on Copy To Clipboard is still valid.

That looks like something is crashing the worker process used to generate the pdf markup. Although I dont see why the details are missing. Does actually converting the PDF work?

It works to the extent that it produces a pdf, but it is a mess of fonts and alignment, presumably because I cannot set anything up in the Search and Replace.

Search and replace isnt going to help with that and you can always do search and replace after the conversion using the edit book tool instead.
