problem downloading noncommercial ebook files

I have a couple of simple ebooks (.epub and .mobi) with the work samples on my website. They used to download just fine. Now, instead of downloading, they open a web page full of gibberish. The files themselves seem to still be functioning fine, it's just that they won't download. Can anyone help me even start narrowing down where the problem might lie? If you want to see what I'm talking about, the .epub and .mobi links are on these two pages:
http://www.aamorgan.com/Paquime.html
http://www.aamorgan.com/Yap.html

Thanks for any clues!

They still download fine. It's up to the browser how to handle any particular content type. Your browser is apparently set to try to open those file types.

That's partially true, since the browser will act depending on the MIME type set by the (host) server.

In particular, it seems to me that the OP's server is not serving the correct MIME type for EPUBs (and maybe for MOBIs as well), since my Firefox+Lucifox does not open up (as it does with EPUB URLs from properly-configured servers) when I follow the file links. Indeed, the server labels the EPUB URL as 'text/plain' instead of 'application/epub+zip'.

For more information: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/...ver_MIME_Types

You might also want to use the search function on this very forum, and land on the follow discussion: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=92236
