This is a bit more than I usually post at, but I read a good review of this book somewhere, and had it on my eReaderIQ list, and it gets 4.5 stars on 60-ish reviews, and I'm interested (for some unknown reason) in the history of Central Asia, so...

Lost Enlightenment: Central Asia's Golden Age from the Arab Conquest to Tamerlane by S. Frederick Starr is currently $6.48 at Kindle US. It is usually around $13 - $14, so it's about half-off. I'm a little bummed that the blurb says that some of the images from the print book are unavailable due to digital copyright issues, but hopefully not too bad, although at least one review does mention it.
